We may use your information to send you promotional material from third parties we believe may interest you, only if you tell us you wish to receive it.
Third-party providers and cookies
The above refers to transferring your data to a third party for that third party’s own purposes, which we do not do. Separately, in order to work, this website relies on providers that process data on the hotel’s behalf and under its instructions. The law requires us to name them, and they are these four:
- Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited). It measures how many people visit the site and how they get here. It sets first-party measurement cookies in your browser whose names begin with “_ga”, and it receives your IP address which, according to Google’s documentation, is used to infer an approximate location and is not stored. It does not build a profile of you. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Quebec it only works if you accept it; elsewhere you can turn it off from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page.
- Google Ads (Google Ireland Limited). When you arrive from one of our Google ads, it records that click and whether you then send a request, so we know which ads work. It is not used to show you ads on other sites. It is turned on and off just like Google Analytics, from “Cookie preferences”.
- Google Maps (Google). The map on the “Getting here” page is served by Google, which receives your IP address and the fact of your visit when it is shown. It loads on its own when the page opens, unless you have turned it off in “Cookie preferences”, or your browser uses a European time zone and you have not chosen yet: in those cases it waits until you press “Show the map”. This is also stated next to the map itself.
- Resend, Inc. (United States). It delivers the email containing your booking request to the hotel. It receives the name, email address and telephone number you enter in that form, and solely in order to deliver it.
What we do not do with your request
The website keeps a copy of each booking request on the hotel’s server for about three months (copies are deleted a whole month at a time, once they are 90 days old), solely so it can be resent if the email fails. There is no database, and that copy is not used for anything else. A statistical record with no personal data is also kept: requested dates, nights, room type and number of guests. Finally, a temporary counter tied to a cryptographic digest of your IP address — not to the address itself — exists to curb automated submissions and expires after one hour.
The booking request form does not ask for your bank card details. If the hotel needs to authorize a charge, it will send you a link to its card authorization form, which does ask for them, in order to authorize that charge.
You can turn Google Analytics, Google Ads and the map on or off at any time from “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of every page. The site and the booking request work exactly the same with everything off.
